When it comes to starting a canine program or
replacing your current canine we understand this is
a decision that takes a great deal of consideration. We
pre-train all our canines prior to the handler's course so that all the
focus is on the handler learning how to handle his/ her new partner.
We limit the number of students to four per
class, allowing every student plenty of hands-on training with
limited down time. We design the course to work at the pace of
the handler while preparing the officer to deal with the mental
challenges they will face in the field - confidence in the dog,
ability as a team, and identifying problems.
**Course curriculum is approved by the Ohio
Peace Officer Training Academy and is available for both single
and dual purpose canines**
Our training areas during the course takes place in real life
environments, we have access to many local buildings that allows
for multiple floor searches, whether it's for the apprehension
work or detection. We have hundreds of acres around our facility
that allows for tracking and outside search work. Everything we
do during our course is to provide the new handler as much
training exposure as possible, so that when they return home for
duty they too will be successful just like our previous
students.
Our 4 Week Dual Purpose, Patrol and Detection Handlers Course
Covers:
Class Orientation, Health-Grooming and First Aid, Narcotic &
Cadaver Application, Odor Movement, Leash Control, Obedience,
Detection- handling and search patterns, Building-Vehicle-Area
Searches, Tracking, Open & Enclosed Area Searches, Decoy work,
Apprehension work / control, Vehicle Stops w/ Bail Outs, Legal
Updates.
Our 3 Week Single Purpose Detection Course Covers:
Class Orientation, Health-Grooming and First Aid, Narcotic
and Cadaver Application, Odor Movement, Leash Control,
Obedience, Detection- handling and search patterns, Building-
Vehicle-Area Searches, Tracking, Legal Update.
We offer the following breeds of dogs:
* German Shepherds *
* Belgian Malinois *
* Sport Breeds *
All canines are guaranteed from date of purchase on health
and workability. We provide one year unlimited monthly maintenance
training at no additional cost at the completion of the handlers course at our
facility.
